We serve as a vital resource for enhancing arts and culture in the region, striving to elevate the creative sector's profile and enrich our community's cultural connections and experiences.THE ROLE30 hours per week with flexible days.This role works closely with the Committee to facilitate the implementation of Artgold's strategic plan by overseeing its day-to-day operations, strategic initiatives, and stakeholder engagement activities. The General Manager leads Artgold operations, including staff management, and stakeholder engagement to promote, advocate and enhance opportunities across arts and culture in the Goldfields.Management and Governance:Coordinate the daily activities of Artgold under the general direction of the Management Committee; including developing programs and initiatives to support the organisation's vision and mission.Advise the Management Committee of any operational issues and provide appropriate solutions.Provide regular updates to the Management Committee regarding the performance of activities, community issues and any other matters relevant to Artgold business, including the preparation of monthly reports.Engage and provide oversight to outsourced functions (finance, IT etc) in conjunction with the relevant executive Committee members (Treasurer/Secretary).Ensure the organisation meets its constitutional and legislative requirements regarding Management Committee reporting and governance, and reporting requirements for service/funding providers.Prepare grant and sponsorship applications for submission, within established guidelines.Advocacy and Promotion:Act as the spokesperson for Artgold and manage all public relations activities in conjunction with the Chair.Represent Artgold at meetings, forums and public events as a leader within the business community.Develop and adhere to a public relations strategy, including representing Artgold's position on key issues impacting the arts and culture sector.Maintain close relationships with key stakeholders as relevant to achieve the strategic and operational objectives of Artgold.Develop relationships, networks and opportunities between members, agencies and tiers of government.Develop and support the delivery of an annual program of events that promote arts and culture and organisational strategic goals.Integrate the Artgold brand across all areas of operations, marketing and member experiences.Increase brand awareness through a well-developed marketing strategy and program of advertising, including visual, print and digital.Human Resources Management:Support a culturally safe organisation that aligns with the values of Artgold.Supervise, provide guidance to and performance manage direct reports, including managing leave/absences.Ensure effective staff management practices are in place, including Code of Conduct and relevant policies.Provide opportunities for staff to participate in professional development and training.Financial Management:Oversee financial processes and manage budget allocations, as determined by the Board.Complete financial reporting for monthly Board meetings in addition to all constitutional and statutory regulations and legislation.Assist the Treasurer and external accountant/auditors to complete audited financial reporting.Oversee fundraising activities, including grant writing, corporate partnerships, sponsorship, and donations.Membership Coordination:Build and grow Ordinary and Associate membership through appropriate engagement strategies and relationship building within the Goldfields community.Ensure members are updated on compliance requirements, including changes in legislation, policies and procedures required for working with government and local industry, as appropriate.ABOUT YOUPlease note: The successful applicant requires full, unrestricted rights to work in Australia.
