Regional Academy of Sport Ltd is the parent company to four Regional Academies of Sport: North Coast, Central Coast, Hunter, and Southern Sports Academy.
RAS Ltd currently requires a General Manager of Finance and Governance, the position will be based in the Hunter Academy of Sport Office, to work in a full-time position.
Regional Academy of Sport Ltd oversees the largest region operating in the Regional Academy of Sport network, delivering pathway programs for hundreds of talented young sportspeople within the four regions, participating in many different sporting codes.
As a Not for Profit, Regional Academies of Sport Ltd prides itself on delivering high-quality programs focusing on talented youth identification, skill progression, high-level quality coaching, education, and technical support, providing opportunities for the youth of the four Academy regions.
This position is not just a financial reporting position; the role includes key business and governance management duties mixed with innovative activities and projects aimed at driving the direction of a growing organisation.
The successful candidate will be a part of the Executive Leadership Team, leading the Finance and Governance functions of RAS Ltd, and will be instrumental in enabling the organisation to achieve both operational and strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Overseeing and guiding the financial management operations of all related Regional Academies of Sport activities.
Working with the Executive Leadership Team to ensure all governance operations of the organisation are maintained, delivered, and enhanced.
Ensuring the financial operations of each office are well managed and running smoothly and efficiently.
Liaising with relevant program staff regarding all financial operational requirements of each sport program.
Holding primary responsibility for the organisation's audit, ATO reporting, NFP ASIC regulations, and NSW Government contractual reporting.
Ensuring Child Protection and First Aid requirements for all staff and volunteers are met.
Providing up-to-date, clear, and concise communication with the Executive Leadership Team, including board reports and other key governance responsibilities.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Extensive experience in a senior financial leadership role, preferably within a multi-office and multi-region organisation, including NFP.
A Master's degree or CPA/CMA preferred.
Strong strategic planning, analytical, and financial management skills.
In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, standards, and best practices.
Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in financial software (Xero) and systems.
