The Aboriginal Health Council of SA (AHCSA) is the peak body representing Aboriginal Community Controlled Health and Substance Misuse services in South Australia at State and National levels.
Our primary role is to be the 'health voice' for all Aboriginal people in South Australia.
We achieve this by advocating for the community and supporting workers with appropriate Aboriginal health programs based on a holistic perspective of health.

The General Manager, Business Services is responsible for leading the delivery of professional, high quality business services for AHCSA's Member Services as well as to support the effective and efficient functioning of the AHCSA organisation.
It also delivers customised business support to meet the individual needs of AHCSA's Member Services via the operation of a tailored support model.
The position also has responsibility for overseeing the effective operations of AHCSA's Registered Training Organisation (RTO), ensuring its offerings are contemporary, in line with sector needs, and responsive to emerging priorities.
It collaborates with the ACCHO sector, Aboriginal communities, and educational experts to create high-quality, culturally appropriate training and development programs and pathways to grow a skilled and effective workforce.
The General Manager, Business Services also leads business development activities to attain new sources of funding and business of value to the ACCHO sector.
This is achieved through establishing relationships with key partners and funding bodies, identifying and pursuing growth opportunities, and developing and executing strategic plans to grow and diversify funding streams and business opportunities relevant to the ACCHO sector.
The General Manager, Business Services plays a critical organisation-wide leadership role supporting the CEO, Board and Leadership Team through the provision of authoritative strategic and specialist advice and information on AHCSA business matters.
The position ensures the effective governance and alignment of AHCSA's operations with the organisation's objectives and strategic direction.
The General Manager, Business Services is accountable and reports directly to the CEO, and works collaboratively as a member of the AHCSA Leadership Team to ensure the achievement of AHCSA's objectives and strategic priorities.
The General Manager, Business Services leads and coordinates the work priorities of the Business Services Directorate, and works collaboratively with AHCSA General Managers and their teams to provide information and advice, and to collaborate on relevant cross-organisational matters.
The position also works closely with Member Services on shared and tailored business support solutions.
The General Manager, Business Services, is a Full-Time, fixed term two year appointment.
Statement of Key Responsibilities The General Manager, Business Services is responsible for, but is not limited to:
Business development: Overseeing, negotiating and coordinating the establishment and management of new business opportunities and funding agreements (government grants, program-based funding and service agreements) in the interests of the ACCHO sector
Leading the development and implementation of strategies to grow and diversify funding streams and business opportunities relevant to the ACCHO sector.Establishing and maintaining a system for monitoring, identifying and managing new business and funding opportunities relevant to the ACCHO sector.Overseeing the new business opportunity pipeline from lead identification to agreement, including proposal development and the negotiation of terms.Building and maintaining networks and developing new partnership opportunities with funders and investors across government, NGO, education, research and other sectors relevant to the work of AHCSA and the ACCHO sector.Overseeing the development and maintenance of resources to support AHCSA's pursuit of new business opportunities such as an organisational content library, value proposition, and proposal templates.Providing strategic guidance to the CEO and Board on possible growth and diversification opportunities and reporting on business development activity and performance.RTO operations management: Overseeing a contemporary RTO that continues to provide culturally appropriate training that is relevant to Member Services and considers emerging priorities
Overseeing the operations of AHCSA's RTO.Leading engagement with Member Services to gather perspectives on current and potential training requirements that could be addressed through the RTO.Leading the exploration of opportunities to maximise and strengthen the RTO training offering to include education and training in new areas relevant to the ACCHO sector.Overseeing the development and implementation of a comprehensive training curriculum that aligns with the needs of the ACCHO sector, Member Services and the community.Exploring technology-based and other innovative teaching methods to enhance the learning experience and accessibility of training programs.Overseeing the regular review and updating of training materials to ensure they reflect current best practices and emerging priorities in the health sector, including through engaging with Aboriginal community leaders and experts to ensure training programs are culturally sensitive and relevant.Overseeing the implementation of accreditation and certification processes to ensure the RTO's training programs meet high standards of excellence.AHCSA business services: Directing the delivery of robust and high-quality corporate service support within AHCSA, expanding capabilities to provide essential shared services to Member Services as needed
Leading the planning and delivery of high-quality professional internal business functions within AHCSA in areas such as human resources; risk, audit and compliance; financial management; procurement; asset and facilities management; and IT.Identifying common business services needs across AHCSA and Member Services, and overseeing the development, packaging, negotiation and delivery of shared services to Member Services, as required.Monitoring the quality and efficiency of business service functions and leading the development and implementation of strategies to continuously improve systems, processes and performance.Developing and overseeing risk management policies and procedures, conducting regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential vulnerabilities, and collaborating with senior leadership to align risk management strategies with organisational goals.Leading the formulation and delivery of AHCSA's key business strategies.Providing authoritative expert advice to the AHCSA CEO, Board and Leadership Team on business matters.Overseeing the provision of expert advice, information, resources and assistance to AHCSA staff on business services matters.Leading approaches for developing staff capacity and capability in business-related knowledge and practices.Tailored support model: Leading the provision of professional and responsive business support to Member Services based on their individual needs driven by economies of scale, reduced duplication, maximising productivity and bridging resource gaps
Leading engagement processes with Member Services to understand their business support needs and identifying ways this can be addressed in a sustainable way through the provision of guidance and tailored business service support.Leading planning, development, packaging and negotiation of tailored support service packages for Member Services.Overseeing the resourcing of tailored support services provided to Member Services, and monitoring the quality of services provided.Team Leadership: Providing effective leadership and management of the Business Services Directorate to support delivery of high quality and responsive functions
