This role is directly responsible for mitigation of legal risks associated with the company's operations and strategic initiatives, overseeing the drafting, review and negotiation of contracts, agreements, and other legal documents, manage and oversee any litigation or legal disputes involving the company, and manage relationships with clients and external regulatory bodies.Responsibilities for the role include:Representing Indue by negotiating contracts and contractual terms in accordance with risk management frameworks.Investigating, analysing and evaluating commercial and operational issues from legal, contract and risk perspectives and making recommendations to senior management on risk mitigation.Remaining abreast of legal and regulatory developments applicable to Indue's activities and providing advice to the business about these changes.Assisting in new product development and having final oversight of contracts for new products.Supporting the Risk Function to ensure the company has sound governance, risk and oversight policies and programmes in place.Sponsoring regulatory change projects.About YouYou will have all or majority of the following skills and attributes:Degree in Law with unrestricted practising certificate.Minimum 10 years experience in a similar position.Significant experience in the banking and finance industry with in-depth experience and understanding of ASIC, APRA and AUSTRAC.Significant experience in drafting and negotiating complex IT, banking facilities and software contracts.Demonstrated commercial acumen, with the ability to develop and drive the implementation of the legal and risk management framework that effectively balances risk with reward relative to the business strategy.Sounds like you?Use the 'Apply' button to create your profile and submit your Cover Letter and Resume, demonstrating your relevant experience for the role.No agency enquiries - only direct candidates with full working rights in Australia will be considered.
