The opportunity As Teva Pharmaceuticals continues its journey of growth across the Asia Pacific (APAC), an exciting new opportunity has arisen, and we are seeking an ambitious and commercially astute General Counsel to join our esteemed organisation.
As the APAC General Counsel, you will be instrumental in shaping our legal strategies and performing a wide variety of legal activities that will help protect the organisation's reputation and business interests, whilst ensuring compliance with all the relevant laws and regulations. This role will have a big focus on Australia and New Zealand markets, and you will also have direct hands-on responsibility for Singapore, Malaysia and Vietnam, as well as direct management of the Legal counsel teams based in Indonesia and South Korea.
To be successful in this role, you will have significant in-house legal experience that covers a broad range of commercial matters. Your expertise of the specific legal nuances within the pharmaceutical industry coupled with a solid understanding of the APAC region from a legal and commercial perspective will be critical in navigating the legal complexities within a dynamic pharmaceutical environment.
This role will report functionally to the Vice President APAC Cluster Head & General Manager ANZ and will dotted line report to Senior Vice President Chief Legal Officer for International Markets.
How you'll spend your day Leadership: Manage legal counsels in APAC to promote consistency of practices across the region. Legal Advisory & Counsel: Provide legal advice and counsel to commercial and operational business units in APAC to ensure activities, policies, business practices and transactions are compliant with relevant laws and regulations. Represent Teva in legal proceedings before courts, government agencies, or other authorities. Legal Compliance & Governance: Manage all corporate governance matters and make appropriate recommendations to management. Implement global and regional legal policies and SOPs. Commercial Review & Contracting: Draft, review and advise on legal contracts and commercial documents including but not limited to loans, leases, purchase agreements, acquisitions, divestitures and employment contracts, to ensure protection of company interests. Global & Regional Collaboration: Work closely with regional and global legal group(s), compliance team, and intellectual property group. Your experience and qualifications Bachelor of Law Minimum of 10 years of legal experience working with business functions such as compliance, audit, finance, legal and regulatory affairs Working knowledge of the legal landscape within the pharmaceutical industry Commercial acumen with a global mindset and a good understanding of the different APAC markets Leadership experience with ability to embrace and lead changes Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation and to interface with management, commercial, customers and health authorities Excellent interpersonal, communications, public speaking and presentation skills Ability to travel up to 25% of the time Make a difference with Teva Pharmaceuticals If you believe you have what it takes to succeed in this exciting opportunity, we would love to hear from you.
