Who We Are Looking For:
The Regulatory & Tax Services Vice President role within Global Delivery is primarily responsible for overseeing the planning, scheduling and execution of Tax, Regulatory and Financial Reporting deliverables across the department. The Vice President will also be responsible for staffing and performance management, maintaining budgets and expense optimization, adherence of the department to risk and compliance policies, liaising with clients, driving process improvements to deliver operational excellence and being involved in the formulation and execution of the department-wide strategy. The role involves interaction with various units locally and overseas. The Vice President should also possess excellent interpersonal, communication and people management skills and demonstrate the ability to lead a large team. Accuracy, timeliness and delivery of client service are imperative in this position with increased focus on quality controls, documentation and process improvements.
What you will be responsible forOversee and where necessary, review monthly, quarterly and annual deliverables (tax distributions, tax provision calculations, income tax returns, CGT, BAS, APRA reporting, ASIC PHD, ABS, financial statements), ensuring timely and accurate production of deliverables for each client relationship.Answer and handle complex issues and queries, both internal and external, and escalate as needed; acting with a sense of urgency to meet required deliverables. Be accountable for assigned tasks and deadlines for self and for the team.Identify risk issues, breaches and act in accordance with the 'risk' escalation chain and operating procedures. Ensure all controls and procedures are adhered to as well as make recommendations for changes.Act as an escalation point.Oversee the effective coordination of activities with other departments.Documentation – Be able to review and correct the process documentation such as process flows, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and coach the team.Understand the end-to-end process and seek support to clear out inter-process upstream/downstream dependencies, suggest process improvements and drive projects to create efficiencies/enhance controls.Ensure effective use of systems and make recommendations for system enhancements.Effectively manage auditor/client queries.Understand the client requirements and guide the team towards efficiently managing its deliverables.Evaluate staffing needs while continually striving for greater efficiencies.Ensure all personnel are appropriately selected, thoroughly trained and given timely and complete performance evaluation feedback.Remain informed of regulatory changes and new industry and competitor developments.Other special projects or tasks assigned.Education & Preferred QualificationsPost Graduates (CA/CPA/CFA) qualified with Big 4 or mid-tier accounting firm relevant experience.At least 10+ years of experience in an accounting or financial services environment, specifically in Australia tax, statutory reporting (APRA) or financial reporting for managed investment and superannuation funds.5+ years supervisory experience is required.Good leadership, negotiation and analytical skills, proven track record of efficiency creation, staff development and people management skills.Good understanding of managed investment funds and superannuation funds.Familiar with financial services and investment products.Detail-oriented individual capable of performing in a high-paced environment.Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and possess strong problem-solving and resolution skills.Good knowledge of internal systems, MS Office (Excel, Word).Data & Analysis - Possesses strong attention to detail.
