FUNCTIONS & EVENTS MANAGER | Leading Western Australian WineryWe're looking for a Functions & Events Manager to join our team in a full-time, permanent position.THE ROLEThe Functions & Events Manager, reporting to the CEO, is the department lead of a passionate team that plans, coordinates, and executes a diverse range of functions, weddings, corporate, and social events in our multi-function rooms at the Sandalford Caversham Estate. The direct reports of this position are the wedding and functions coordination team as well as the Functions Operations Manager, who oversees a casual pool of approximately 60 food & beverage staff. Together, this team collectively delivers experiences that exceed expectations and enhance the reputation of our venue every time.This is a lead-from-the-front, business management position where you will bring your industry knowledge and network of local, interstate, and overseas contacts to continue our legacy as a leading destination for unique and creative events for each client's needs and vision.Working with organisations such as Business Events Perth and the Australian Tourism Export Council (ATEC), this position will showcase and promote our award-winning business that has a rich history, rolling landscapes, a world-class portfolio of wines, and an exquisite menu to WA, interstate, and international visitors.Furthermore, this role is responsible for:Overseeing all aspects of events from initial client contact to final execution, ensuring seamless operations and exceptional service.Working closely with the administration and coordination team to offer tailored event solutions and packages, negotiating terms and finalising sales.Developing and maintaining relationships with both internal and external stakeholders including customers, vendors, and suppliers.Overseeing and maintaining the reservation sales forecast ensuring target profitability.Being accountable for the profit and loss, managing labour, stock, and departmental expenses.Collaborating with the Executive Chef and management team to ensure clients' expectations are met.Staying abreast of industry trends to continuously deliver a high-end vision and direction, to drive improvement and promote efficiencies.Management and support of the Functions Operations Manager and supervision team in rostering and management of the Functions operations food & beverage team.Reporting to the CEO and working with the Directors to collaborate on the continued growth and vision of the functions business.ABOUT YOUDemonstrate an owner-operator mentality to your work and department.Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills to create first-class relationships.Demonstrated hospitality and event coordination experience with the ability to execute high-end event delivery while leading and motivating a team.Ability to work under pressure with excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.Proven time management skills to plan and prioritise for success with high attention to detail and strong verbal and written communication skills.Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook and competent in computer operating system software.Business-minded with proven sales experience with the ability to develop and implement sales strategies.Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, as required by event schedules.Full Australian working rights required.WHAT WE OFFERAttractive salary for the right candidate of $120k + super PLUS annual incentives of up to $20k for achievement of revenue, profit, HR, and WHS targets.Staff benefits including food and beverage and room rate discounts across all Prendiville hotels.Career progression and opportunities within Prendiville Group (www.prendiville.com.au).Free parking onsite.We will only contact potential candidates for interview and shortlisting will commence immediately.Established in 1840, Sandalford Wines is one of the oldest winemakers in Western Australia.
