Full Time Retail Buyer

Brief details about the position:
Permanent full-time position 38 hours per week $75,000 per year + superannuation Location: Cabramatta Your day as a Retail Buyer:
Identify and acquire products that meet consumer demands and align with inventory needs. Conduct research to understand market trends, customer preferences, and competitor pricing to guide purchasing decisions. Oversee stock levels to ensure product availability while managing excess inventory. Review and evaluate current offerings available from suppliers and consolidate business relationships. Negotiate favorable purchasing terms with suppliers regarding price, delivery, quality, and resolve supply issues. Develop strategies to increase sales through effective product assortment and promotions by analyzing sales data. Manage purchasing budgets, track expenditures, and ensure cost-effective buying decisions. Assess product performance using sales metrics and customer feedback to make decisions about product continuation or discontinuation. Stay informed about industry trends and consumer preferences through industry reports, social media, trade shows, etc. and adjust buying strategies to align with these trends. Coordinate with marketing, merchandising, and other departments to align purchasing and promotion strategies with overall business goals. Maintain detailed records of purchasing transactions, supplier agreements, and inventory levels by generating forecasts and reports on buying activities and inventory status. The job will be full-time (9am-5pm).
