Kangaroo Valley Golf & Country Retreat is looking for a full-time or part-time receptionist. We are looking for someone with excellent people skills and attention to detail, who truly loves providing great service to our clientele. Prior customer service and hospitality experience is well regarded; however, training to develop your skills is available for the right candidate. Understanding the game of Golf is desirable but not essential.
KVGCR is a beautiful place to work and the team is a close-knit family. We aim to deliver outstanding service and exceed our customers' expectations. With the property undergoing significant renovations and expansion in terms of new entertaining facilities and new Villa accommodation areas, we are looking to further grow our team over the next year or so.
The reception role can be full-time or permanent part-time depending on the needs of the successful candidate. While covering the front desk and assisting guests with accommodation check-ins and check-outs, you will also be assisting golfers with bookings, paying green fees, cart rental, and sales of various snacks, drinks, and merchandise.
Other tasks include handling phone enquiries and taking bookings for accommodation, functions, restaurant, and golf. Since we hire out golf carts, there is a requirement to be able to drive them out of the storage shed to the car park, plus check and return them at the end of the day.
There are a variety of general administrative tasks, i.e., ordering or raising purchase orders for merchandise or snacks/drinks, following up on enquiries, end-of-day cash register procedures, lock-up, etc. All training in our systems will be given.
From time to time, when needed, you may be required to provide some F&B service, i.e., at the 19th hole (the bar!), where a cold beer is very popular - so having your RSA is advantageous. Of course, this is easy to obtain if you don't have it.
The role will involve regular weekend work, e.g., Saturdays fortnightly. Hours to be agreed. Working hours can be discussed/negotiated during the interview process.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Superior Customer Service orientationFamiliarity with computers and administrationGreat phone mannerSocial skills and a friendly, helpful demeanour with staff and clienteleThe ability to 'think on your feet' and pitch in where neededF&B skills + RSA is a distinct advantageSo if you are a team player with a positive attitude, this will be the place where you can hone your skills and develop your career, i.e., grow in your role whilst the venue expands and grows!
