Salary: $74k- $80k + Superannuation
About our company: We are a family owned and operated company which purchases, holds, develops, refurbishes and makes available for rental commercial properties in Sydney.
We own commercial properties in the CBD and surrounding suburbs such as Haymarket, Surry Hills and Pyrmont.
About the role: We are looking for a full-time inhouse Legal Officer who is passionate about property law.
You will report to the Directors of the company and provide legal advice to the Directors on a broad range of property legal matters, including commercial acquisitions, leasing, mortgaging, legal risk, all with a view to helping to shape the future of our growing portfolio.
The responsibilities will include: Undertake legal research on laws (legislation and case law) relating to property, conveyancing, ASIC regulations and tenancy lawsDrafting legal analysis on acquisitions of commercial properties, including legal risk analysisDrafting, amending and advising on contracts for saleDrafting legal precedents for use within the companyDrafting and advising on commercial and retail leases (including preparing disclosure statements)Due diligence tasks such as conducting searches and obtaining/reviewing documentsDrafting licences, land access arrangements and other deedsDrafting advice on disputes, with emphasis on legal risks, rights, obligations, assessment of claims and defencesAdvising on property development (development agreements and land subdivision matters)Liaising with key stakeholders i.e., other party's solicitors and support staffSupport company with legal analysis of negotiations and transactions to achieve commercial outcomes.The above will be undertaken under the supervision of a Director of the company who is an admitted solicitor in NSW.
