Fruit Farm Worker

One of our clients Barolli Orchards, based in Shepparton, VIC need a fruit farm worker for full-time position.
Applicant should have good experience in similar role.
If they have some management experience, that will be additional advantage for this role.
• To be involved in the daily production of fruit farming, including apples, pears and plums.
• To be involved and coordinate activities of workers engaging in activities from preparing land for planting through to the harvesting of fruit.
• Planning and implementing new systems to increase production and quality of produce, and to maintain safe working conditions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Planning the daily activities of work to be completed on the farms.
• To be involved in the duties of ground preparation, cultivation, fertilization, nursery growing and planting trees.
• Pruning trees to promote healthy growth and productivity.
• To harvest and knowing when to harvest according to size and ripeness.
• Assist in construction of trellis and maintenance of trellis throughout the farms.
• Irrigate crops to ensure optimal growth conditions.
• Spray chemicals on crops to treat diseases and pests, and tree line spray between rows.
• To maintain machinery and equipment used in agricultural tasks.
• To have knowledge of safely driving tractors and operating farm machinery.
• Maintaining all Food and Safety records for chemical and fertilizer usage, plant and machinery maintenance, and training records.
• To have a current Chemical Users Certificate • To have a current car and forklift licence.
QUALIFICATIONS: Degree in Agriculture, or at least 3 years' experience.
