As a Frontend Engineer at Swyftx, you'll primarily specialise in frontend development, with the opportunity to dive into full-stack tasks as your interests and skills allow. You'll play a key role in our technical advancement, joining a high-performing and passionate team that takes pride in the craftsmanship of their code. Partner closely with our product and design teams to ensure our application is functional, intuitive, beautiful, and user-friendly.
Please note: This is a hybrid role, with 3 days working from home and 2 office-based days at our Brisbane head office.
How we workWe are organised in product squads, with a product manager, designer and tech lead in each, along with anywhere from 3 to 6 engineers.Squads are responsible for domains such as deposits, trading and customer onboarding, and look after setting roadmap for delivery of major new features/products, optimizing existing features/products, and dealing with tech debt.Some of your key responsibilities in this role will include:Crafting High-Quality Code: Utilise modern front-end technologies such as React.js and TypeScript to write clean, scalable, and maintainable code that powers our user interfaces.Collaborative Problem Solving: Work closely with designers, product managers, and back-end engineers to tackle technical challenges and innovate on user interface solutions.Code Review: Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure code quality, adherence to best practices, and optimal performance, providing constructive feedback to fellow engineers.Knowledge Sharing: Share your front-end expertise through detailed documentation, insightful write-ups, and engaging presentations, contributing to the continuous learning and growth of our development team.Product Alignment: Align front-end development efforts with product goals, contribute to defining epics and user stories, and collaborate on ticket creation and implementation to achieve project objectives efficiently.To be successful you will have:Prior experience in fast-paced tech environments, ideally within fintech or financial services.Proficiency in React and Typescript is essential, a working understanding of state management and familiarity with React Native would be a valuable addition.Track record in identifying, and resolving, customer facing issues in a timely manner.Demonstrated expertise in automated testing and unit tests to ensure robust and reliable code.A can-do attitude, driven by a strong desire to create a meaningful impact for customers.Some of our perks and benefits include:Unlimited fee-free tradingCareer growth, training, mentorship, and development opportunitiesSocial activities, game breaks and end of month awardsFully stocked kitchen, breakfast and lunch foods, unlimited fresh fruit, snacks and kombuchaWeekly catered lunches on a Wednesday$110,000 - $135,000 a year
