Salary level, range or hourly rate: School Officer Level 3 - $33.17 (School Salary Scale)/(Services Salary Scale)

St Kieran's is a Catholic Primary School with an approximate enrolment of 330 students. We are situated in the beautiful bayside suburb of Brighton. The Front Office Secretary is required to deliver friendly, efficient customer service and create a warm and welcoming atmosphere to parents, staff, students and visitors to our school. The Front Office Secretary is required to uphold and maintain a high level of confidentiality and discernment, in the undertaking of their role.
The main role areas include Administration, Student Support, Communication and First Aid & Health Services. Typical duties include but are not limited to:
PA to the Principal Provide valuable administrative support services to the school leadership team. Monitor and manage school emails. Managing and responding to telephone and front counter enquiries from parents, students and the school community. Taking and distribute all messages efficiently to relevant staff, students and the school community and scheduling of appointments. Receipt payments from school parents. Efficient in Word processing and Excel spreadsheeting. Follow and implement school office processes and procedures including student late arrivals/early leavers and follow ups. Ensure efficient management of the student management system, including attendance. Keep up to date with what is happening at the school. Prepare and distribute communications to parents and staff as required. Management of School website, Parental Portal and BCE Connect to ensure content is accurate, up to date and consistent with communication. Promotion and communication for in-school events. Edit and update the St Kieran's Electronic sign. Process and manage sponsorship partnerships. Provide First Aid and general health services to students and staff by attending to, monitoring and supporting people who are in the school sick room. Maintaining the sick bay area by ensuring that all medication is stored in such a manner that it can be easily identified and accessible to be administered to students. Have a full knowledge and understanding of emergency procedures, policies and the legal requirements associated with providing a safe environment for students and staff, and then be able to implement strategies to meet all requirements. Display flexibility in assuming various roles and responsibilities within the school setting. To be eligible to be considered for this role you will: hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement; be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment; and have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education.
