Food manufacturing team leadership opportunity with a prominent manufacturing companyLocated in Bundaberg (15-minute drive to local beaches / Bargara)Fast-paced and commercial environment with strong collaborative cultureAbout the role: You will be leading our Fresh Chilli Sorting & Packaging department, managing & coordinating staff, production scheduling, stock control, production reporting and coordinating with other key staff within the business to ensure we meet our customers' requirements. The role will also have a strong focus on QA within our production processes to ensure our high standards are maintained.
Key Responsibilities: Provide leadership, direction, and management to the factory-based team, and their reports, to set and achieve/exceed KPI's, productivity, quality, and safety & QA targets;Strong emphasis on continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cost and waste, and improve productivity and quality;Maintain staff training through internally developed systems of process, and lead change initiatives through supervisors & floor staff;Liaise with Maintenance staff to increase production efficiency and improve product quality and recovery percentages through equipment improvement & upgrades, with an emphasis on lean practices;Apply the company's organisational structure within the departments, ensuring roles & responsibilities are clearly defined to your staff to ensure accountability for the production of product & safety of our staff;Report to the Production & Continuous Improvements ManagerWork experience & skills: Minimum 5 years experience in managing teams of people;Focused, driven & accurate leadership experience, ability to multitask with varied production setups;Understanding and compliance of OHS and QS standards in relation to a process facility;Ability to apply effective leadership, with a focus on improving workplace culture & increasing staff engagement to their task;Practical understanding HACCP, SQF and other customer standards including export requirements;Strong commercial awareness and an ability to communicate at all levels in the business;This role is central to the ongoing success of the organisation. It requires attention to detail combined with pragmatism necessary to complete tasks; understanding and adhering to processes with an ability to recognise inefficiencies and embrace improvements.
This full-time role is located in Bundaberg. Although based around daylight hours, you may be required to work either am or pm shifts from time to time.
