Visit.org is looking for an experienced, responsible, and driven Freelance Event Specialist in Sydney, Australia to help us manage the logistics of an upcoming in-person event. The right candidate will be based in Sydney, Australia, have corporate event experience, an entrepreneurial spirit, extreme passion for our mission, and the energy and discipline to thrive in a start-up tech environment.

Responsibilities: Coordinate all event details, shipping event materials, and arranging staffing for each event.Join virtual planning meetings ahead of each event with all parties involved.Take ownership of in-person events: set up, align with the on-site team, tear down, clean site areas, and ensure a high-quality customer experience.Be the Visit.org representative and problem solver at events.Align roles and responsibilities with the onsite team, including event host, nonprofit organization, venue, additional staff, and corporate partner.Manage the check-in process for in-person events, providing a warm and friendly welcome to guests.Problem-solve issues such as missing supplies and technology challenges.Escalate issues to the Events Team when necessary.Send updates, photos, and videos to the Events Team throughout the event.Assist in the breakdown after the event ends, cleaning the site and repackaging materials.Qualifications: Fluency in English and strong communication skills.Based in Sydney, Australia.Schedule flexibility with availability to work on a contract per-event basis.Experience in complex, large-scale events and smaller executive-level events.Proven experience in executing high-level events and enhancing customer experience.Resourceful, with the ability to exhibit grace under pressure.Quick thinker with problem-solving abilities.Self-starter who is organized and detail-oriented.Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.Experience with group facilitation and managing group dynamics.Able to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.Willing to travel to various areas of the local region.Comfortable interacting with large crowds.Physical Demands: Able to lift, slide, and carry up to 30 lbs.Able to stand for extended periods.What we offer: This is an on-location, in-person, per-event contract role in Sydney, Australia. This role is open only to candidates already based in Sydney, Australia. No relocation packages are offered at this time.
