Position Details As we continue our transformation and growth journey in the region, we are looking to appoint a Food Safety Advisor to join our Food Safety and Compliance team at Hume Rd, Laverton in Melbourne. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Food Safety Optimisation, Asia Pac, your primary focus will be to ensure all stores within the Hume Rd facility comply with internal and external food safety and compliance requirements, including but not limited to:
Import/export audits BRCGS/GFSI audits HACCP Customer specific audits Additionally, this role will communicate key audit and food safety requirements to the site operational teams and maintain effective relationships with both management and operational leaders regarding food safety compliance and quality systems in accordance with company guidelines.
Key Responsibilities Include: Developing and maintaining a HACCP system that, as a minimum, satisfies legislative and customer requirements. Monitoring and maintaining the controls and standards that enable Food Optimisation standards and regulatory requirements to be met as a minimum, including HACCP, AQIS, DAFF (import/export), Halal, and Approved Arrangements regulations and requirements. Developing, organising, and performing regular auditing programs that satisfy food optimisation, certification, company, and customer requirements. Conducting internal spot check audits on registrations and certifications, ensuring that they are in place and up to date. Assisting in ensuring the compliance of sites with internal and external audit requirements. Providing support to sites in closing out all corrective action requests within timelines set out by audits. Ensuring that all facilities operate within the Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ), HACCP, Approved Arrangement guidelines and where applicable BRC standards. To Be Successful, You Will Ideally Have: Extensive experience in a similar role within a logistics/industrial environment. Qualifications in Auditing or relevant disciplines. Experience leading a small team. A good understanding and implementation of safety procedures, product safety, quality, and legality issues. Impressive verbal and written communication skills. Excellent customer service, problem solving, and influencing skills. Proficient time management and organisational skills. IT skills (Microsoft Office). What's Exciting About This Opportunity?
