Eurofins Environment Testing Australia New Zealand is an Environmental testing network of fully accredited laboratories.
With a staff of over 200 our laboratories are located in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, Auckland and Christchurch, with Client Service Offices located in Adelaide, Darwin, Newcastle and Wollongong.

Job Description Full Time (37.5 hours per week) Both Day Shifts (9.00 am - 5.00 pm) and Afternoon Shifts (2.00 pm - 10.00 pm) are available Potential Saturday, Sunday and public holiday rosters are available on request The role is based in Murarrie QLD 4172 Entry-level position with great opportunity for career advancement Recent graduates with university/TAFE lab experience encouraged to apply The Laboratory Assistant is responsible for assisting the laboratory function by ensuring all samples are appropriately prepared and analysed in a timely manner while assisting with various other laboratory duties, to achieve operational, customer and quality requirements.
Reporting to the Team Leader, the role will focus on the following duties: Sample receipt and documentation Computer login of client and sample details Sample weighing and allocation Processing of food, water, soil, cosmetics, air and environmental samples for chemical and/or microbiological analysis Computer input analysis results Performance of simple analysis culture reading Performance of equipment quality control and maintenance Assisting office staff when required Assisting with laboratory's store management system.
Ensuring an efficient and on-time sample flow in and out of the laboratory.
Assisting with the control of samples and supplies in all laboratory areas.
Ensure efficient utilisation of laboratory equipment and materials.
Qualifications Certificate / Diploma in Laboratory Techniques; or equivalent qualification; or significant laboratory experience.
About You To be successful for this position, you will need to demonstrate the following qualities and characteristics: Experience in a laboratory will be an advantage but not essential.
Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to structure thoughts deliberately, logically and directly.
Able to work in a fast-paced environment on tight deadlines.
Strong attention to detail.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
On the job training will be provided, along with the use of our systems and programs.
Previous exposure to a warehouse or laboratory environment would hold you in good stead, however the successful candidate will have a can-do attitude, interest in the industry and a willingness to learn.
