Flooring Apprentice Needed Client Requirement : Our client is currently seeking a flooring apprentice who can show initiative, is highly enthusiastic, hard-working and passionate about learning the flooring trade. This client is a renowned family and eager to onboard candidates to show long-term support and reward with getting a certified trade. Your New Role : You'll be working with a leading Canberra-based flooring company learning the art of flooring. You will be required to work full-time hours and be willing to learn the trade. Your new role is physically demanding and requires you to be physically resilient. This role has a long pipeline of opportunities and succession in the flooring industry. Diverse Projects : Opportunities abound to work with a reputable Canberra-based flooring company on major residential and commercial projects, including installations, refinishing, and repairs. This company works on projects across the ACT commercial projects, from schools, office fitouts as well as new builds. Responsibilities : As a flooring apprentice, you'll engage in tasks such as: Material preparation Installation assistance Manual handling Overall project support Onsite tool usage (ability to use drop-saws, hammers, scrapers, flatcars) Subsequently, you will begin working independently once proficiency has been identified. What You'll Need to Succeed : Reliability and Motivation : A key requirement is being a dependable and motivated worker, available for consistent work engagements. Qualifications : A willingness to learn and show commitment to the flooring trade. Basic construction industry knowledge is advantageous. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is necessary : a hard hat, Hi-Viz, pants and steel cap boots. Must have: White Card Asbestos Awareness Card Crystalline Silica Exposure Awareness Reliable means of transportation Experience: While prior experience is not mandatory, any exposure to construction or related fields is beneficial.
