About the opportunity This is a very exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, highly organised and proactive team player to join a market leader in the environmental industry. Your main focus is to keep the company fleet at a high standard so the business can continue to deliver on ground operational requirements.
This role primarily focuses on coordinating fleet maintenance and repairs across all business vehicles and plant/equipment. Manage a preventative maintenance schedule and track the completion of these maintenance tasks by external vendors, such as mechanics. The Fleet Coordinator is also responsible for the procurement/decommission of fleet and maintaining compliance such as insurance, registration and safety.
The position is an integral part of a team where you will be exposed to a fast-paced environment that deals with operational challenges on a daily basis and having to be able to problem solve on the run.
In this role you will perform, but not be limited to the following:
Scheduling and coordinating fleet maintenance and repairs;Attend to and coordinate adhoc maintenance requirements;Work with external vendors, including mechanics, sign writers, dealerships etc;Maintain a Fleet register;Assist with Fleet purchases and replacements including full vehicle setup;Processing Insurance claims;Monitoring IVMS/GPS systems and providing reports on request;Completing regular internal audits across the fleet to ensure company standards are being met;Ensure compliance across all fleet such as insurance, registration and on-site safety;Assist with process improvement such as developing new maintenance checklist, SOP's and VOC's for company fleet in conjunction with the Systems & Compliance Coordinator;Provide back up support for the administration team during quieter periods;Promote, educate and ensure that internal standards are met within the operations team; andWork within Biodiversity Australia policies and procedures at all times.About you To perform this role successfully, you must have prior experience in fleet management/automotive industry. You must have the ability to make informed decisions, work well under pressure, manage conflicting priorities and strive for excellence and quality. You are a team-oriented, proactive and responsible individual with a strong focus on customer service to all internal and external stakeholders.
To be successful in this role you will have:
Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role or held a previous position within the automotive industry;Strong foundational knowledge around engines/vehicles and plant and equipment such as trailers, quads etc;Strong negotiation skills when facilitating new purchases for the business;Ability to problem solve;Strong organisational skills that demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail;Exceptional written and verbal communication;The ability to grasp logistical requirements to provide guidance or suggest solutions around the fleet needs of the business units;The ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality;High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; andAbility to learn quickly, demonstrate critical thinking and make situation-appropriate decisions using sound judgment.Indigenous applicants are encouraged to apply.
