Fixed Plant Operator (Asphalt)

The Company: Malatesta Road Paving & Hot Mix is a South West regional company, based in Bunbury, that has been providing asphalt and spray sealing services to state/local government and the local community for over 45 years.
The Position: We currently have an opportunity for a fixed plant operator to run our state-of-the-art Benninghoven asphalt plant in Bunbury, WA.  The role is permanent full time, with an hourly pay rate plus penalties.
Key Responsibilities: Operate and maintain fixed plant machinery essential to asphalt production processes.Perform routine inspections, checks, and basic maintenance of equipment to ensure optimal performance.Assist in preparing machinery for daily operations, troubleshooting minor issues as required.Support asphalt operations by working effectively with team members and supervisors.Ensure safety compliance, adhering to all workplace health and safety standards.Monitor and report on operational output, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.Essential Criteria: The successful candidates must have:
Construction Induction Card (White/Blue Card)Strong work ethicBasic computer literacyBasic mechanical knowledgePhysically fitPunctual and reliableIt would be advantageous to have:
Experience with fixed plant operationPrevious experience in the asphalt/bituminous surfacing industryForklift / Loader ticketDangerous Goods LicenseThe pre-employment check involves obtaining a Drug and Alcohol screening.
