Our government client is seeking a qualified Fitter / Welder to join their team in the Sydney Harbour Bridge maintenance workshop (South Pylon).
The main duties of the role include fitting, assembling and welding metal parts and subassemblies to fabricate production machines and other equipment.
Essential requirements for this role :

Relevant Certificate III trade qualification
Previous experience in maintenance / repair role
Construction Industry White Card
Current Rail Industry Worker (RIW) Card
Current unrestricted NSW motor vehicle driver's license
Willingness to undertake any legislated or internal licensing or ticketing requirements as directed
Ability to solve problems and work independently
Ability in using literacy and numeracy skills to complete work records
Ability to effectively communicate with work team
Ability to resource basic materials to carry out routine or emergency repairs

This is a 6-month contract with the possibility of being extended. It offers 46 hours per week.
