Hedweld has been producing world leading products for the mining sector globally for over 40 years, known for our Trilift range of component handling equipment and our Safe-Away range of access systems.
Reporting to the CNC Workshop Supervisor, this role presents an excellent opportunity for a motivated Fitter-Machinist to join our high-performing team at our Mt Thorley, NSW site.
The main responsibilities of the role include: Analyses work orders and blueprints to determine information such as material to be used, type of operations, and sequence of operations required.Determines requirements for jigs, equipment, and material.Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.General fabrication, machining, assembly and repair work in a timely manner.Ensures all work performed is to specification.Complies with company business system requirements such as Safety, Quality, Business management systems (i.e., PRONTO), schedules and production documentation.Keeps tools and machinery effectively maintained.Sets up, programs and operates CNC machinery, (mills, lathes, laser, profile, etc.
), drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.Assists Mechanical Engineer to modify sketches or computer-generated designs of machine components such as hydraulic system and drive mechanism.Similar experience (preferably with CNC Machining).Mechanical aptitude.What's in it for you This is a full-time permanent opportunity, providing stability and long-term prospects.Overtime is available for those seeking additional income or professional growth.Enjoy a four-day work week for trades, allowing for a better work-life balance.Roster 1: Monday to Thursday, 6:00 am to 4:00 pm.
