We specialise in working in remote locations and our significant scope of in-house labour, trades, plant, and equipment enable us to respond at short notice to meet the tightest deadlines.About the RoleAn opportunity for a Fitter to join the Ahrens Olympic Dam team and play an integral role in the delivery of professional, effective and appropriate mining site trade services within Ahrens. Represent the Ahrens Group to our customers and further develop our reputation and brand as a respected contracting organisation at Olympic Dam, while developing strong customer relationships.Key ResponsibilitiesAble to interpret/ read drawings to determine job requirements and work unsupervisedGood Focus on Quality and Attention to DetailTube bending using manual and mechanical bending tools.Assemble & install pipes, valves, pumps, cylinders, gauges, strainers, and associated equipment as detailed in construction drawings and schematics.Manage all pneumatic and hydrostatic testing to a high standardProduce detailed and timely reports as directed by the pressure testing supervisorFault-finding and problem solvingPipework flushing and pressure testingEnsure maximum uptime of machinery and equipment;Ensure quality standards are maintained;Inspect and monitor plant equipment as required;Ensure that work is organised and executed in a timely manner;Material, labour, plant and equipment is used as effectively and efficiently as possible;Ensure that all tools and equipment are clean and well maintained;Operate vehicles, plant and equipment and tools in a proper manner;Skills and ExperienceMinimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience in a similar position within the mining or construction industryWillingness to work up to 12-hour shifts on a 13-8 rosterC class Driver's license and access to own vehicleWhite CardFixed plant maintenance experience (ideal but not essential)Certificate III in Engineering (Fitting) - (Desirable)Holding current additional high-risk tickets and licenses will be beneficialHolding current mobile plant tickets will be beneficialWhy Work at AhrensWe are continually evolving and investing in our people and facilities to achieve satisfying outcomes.We strive for a positive and supportive team culture which embraces diversity and innovation, and aligns with our core values including commitment, integrity and safety.
