The Role We are seeking a passionate First Nations Engagement Managers to lead and enhance our engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
These roles are pivotal in driving our commitment to reconciliation by working closely with First Nations stakeholders to develop, implement, and monitor culturally appropriate strategies and programs.
Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain strong, respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, leaders.
Lead the design and implementation of initiatives that support the engagement of First Nations communities in line with our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).
Work with Indigenous communities and ISS recruitment team to coordinate Indigenous recruitment and on-boarding.
Constantly review the Indigenous candidate experience and be the driver of meaningful changes increasing sustainable outcome.
Inform ISS training content and delivery to enable the development of Indigenous Placemakers.
Provide cultural leadership and advice to internal teams to ensure culturally safe practices and protocols are followed.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate First Nations perspectives into segments.
Represent the organisation at key events, forums, and community consultations.
Monitor and report on the effectiveness of engagement initiatives, identifying areas for continuous improvement.
Support the development and implementation of cultural awareness training for staff.
About You Strong connection to and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and communities.
Proven experience working in engagement roles within First Nations communities.
Excellent relationship-building and communication skills with diverse groups of stakeholders.
Ability to provide leadership in cultural safety, inclusion, and reconciliation practices.
Strong project management and reporting skills.
A high level of empathy, respect, and sensitivity towards cultural differences.
Dependent on business segment you would operate across, compliance checks may be required.
Qualifications Tertiary qualifications in community development, social work, public policy, or related fields (or equivalent experience) highly regarded.
Identification as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person is highly regarded.
