Objective:
To help engage First Nations People children with disabilities, with services that support them with social participation and development.
Person Specification: Essential that you are an Australian First Nations personHave connections within the First Nations communitiesAn understanding of childhood development and safeguarding practicesKnowledge of disabilities and the services that are available to children with disabilities in AustraliaNSW Driving LicenceAccess to North ParramattaBe a respected individual and credible figure within the First Nations communityConfirmation of Aboriginality with common sealReference from Aboriginal Organisation, Corporation or Elders GroupUnderstanding of developmental milestones in young childrenDuties: Engage effectively with First Nations families to gather comprehensive information about the child, highlighting relevant evidence of disability, developmental delays, and overall functioning.Provide recommendations based on professional judgment and the gathered information, focusing on interventions that best contribute to the child's developmental progress and social involvement.Collaborate with coordinators, offering support to work with First Nations families in identifying reasonable and necessary funded supports for their child, aligning with specific goals and developmental areas for inclusion in an NDIS plan.Implement strategies aligned with the Early Childhood program outcomes, ensuring adherence to the PITC Statement of Requirements and Grant Agreement, and working towards meeting performance measures.Cultivate and sustain effective relationships with local and regional stakeholders, including Early Childhood Education settings, mainstream services, and community resources, offering information and support to First Nations children facing disabilities and developmental delays.Fulfil administrative responsibilities as required, including regular reporting on Early Childhood performance measures, monthly reports, funding reports, and data collection to ensure program compliance.Participate in "Yarrabee Network," contributing to discussions and initiatives.Uphold and contribute to the implementation of the organisation's Stretch Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) in day-to-day operations.Attend supervision and professional development sessions related to supporting First Nations children and families.Embrace a strength-based, family-centered approach, assisting families in building capacity and resilience.Operate within the framework of Best Practice Guidelines in Early Intervention, NSW Disability Inclusion Act, National Disability Standards, Privacy Legislation, and other applicable laws.Adhere to policies and procedures, especially the Code of Conduct and Ethics.Comply with, report on, and actively participate in Safety & Injury Management Procedures and WH&S Procedures.Contribute to the maintenance of premises, vehicles, and equipment, promptly addressing any issues with the Manager.Participate in team meetings and undertake other duties as negotiated.Salary: Up to $88,000 + Super
Working Hours: Flexible working hours (Any 8 hours between 7am and 7pm)
Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 3 days WFH and 2 days in the office
Leave: 5 weeks holiday a year plus Public Holidays
