Selection Criteria SC1 Demonstrated experience, skills and understanding of the role of First Aid Officer in a school for students with health needs. SC2 Posses the technical knowledge and expertise relevant to the position SC3 Demonstrated capacity to communicate effectively in a team environment, including high level oral and written communication skills SC4 Demonstrated ability in managing and maintaining high levels of confidentiality and professional conduct. SC5 Demonstrated ability to maintain appropriate documentation including record keeping, medical plans and assessments of students. Role LEVEL 2 FIRST AID CERTIFICATE MUST BE OBTAINED PRIOR TO COMMENCEMENT DATE AND A CURRENT WWCC (EMPLOYEE) . Provide administrative duties as required within this role ensuring all required documentation is revised and information remains accurate and relevant.
Provide First Aid to student and staff as required
Provide medical intervention support for a specific medical condition approved by the Department, requires specialised training/instructions and regular updated and has clearly defined responsibility for the administration of such support
Contact parents and guardians with information on their children when they require first aid medical attention
Maintain First Aid kits and yard duty bags throughout the school and provide kits for camps and excursions
Order, store and monitor medication and medical supplies to ensure first aid cupboard is always well stocked and up to date
Document all necessary first aid visits and incidents on edusafe
Ensure all student all students on special lists and requiring medication are up to date eg anaphylaxis diabetes, asthma etc
Maintain accurate and up to date health records including individual student medical plans
Ensure sick bay remain clean, tidy and uncluttered at all times
Organise and ensure first aid training is completed by staff as required, including but not limited to Level 2, anaphylaxis, asthma and diabetes.
Develop and implement strategies to ensure effective first aid administration procedures
Other duties as determined by the Principal Staff or Business Manager
Responsibilities Ensure the provision of a range of administrative support functions for the Principal and teaching staff. Provide administrative support to external service providers as required. Manage the processing of student admissions, registrations, enrolments and transfers. Provide required level of administrative support for school events, functions and projects. Implement induction programs for new staff, volunteers and other workers to the school.
