If you're ready to lead the way in financial excellence, this is the place for you! What You Will Be Working On As our Financial Performance Lead, you'll be at the helm of managing our City's financial heartbeat.
Your role? Big picture thinking, problem-solving, and driving success.
Here's what you'll get up to: Lead with impact : Manage a powerhouse team of finance professionals, steering business partnering and management accounting functions.
Master the budget : Take charge of our annual budget, long-term financial plans, and ensure everything runs smoothly—reviews, variations, fees, and all.
Be a trusted advisor : Provide our leadership teams with the insights and support they need to make informed, strategic decisions that keep the City on track.
Build excellence : Create and develop a team that's known for its expertise and ability to deliver innovative solutions that make finance approachable and powerful for everyone.
Drive financial strategy : Monitor trends, analyze business strategies, and ensure our financial health is future-proofed, supporting the City's big goals.
Foster collaboration : Elevate financial literacy across the organization, ensuring our teams understand, engage, and make smart financial decisions that benefit the whole community.
About You We're looking for a dynamic leader who's ready to take the reins and make things happen.
You'll bring: A tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, or Commerce.
Membership with CAANZ or CPA Australia.
A deep understanding of the legislation and regulations that matter, ideally with exposure to Local Government requirements.
A track record of leading high-performing teams, especially in business partnering and management accounting roles.
Expertise in financial systems, data management, and turning complex reports into meaningful insights.
Experience in the full spectrum of accounting—from budgeting to financial reporting, with a firm grip on legislation.
A passion for building financial literacy across a diverse range of people and delivering impactful training.
Proven experience in business process improvement to keep things efficient and continuously evolving.
Strong conceptual thinking, the ability to solve problems, and an innate talent for influencing and aligning others with the City's vision.
