Community Development (Community Services & Development)Full timeTax-reducing salary packaging options availableWe are recruiting for a passionate and experienced Financial Counsellor to join our Community Engagement Services division, providing support to those in need through our face to face program and the National Debt Helpline.Our Community Engagement Services Division is an integrated team of employees and volunteers dedicated to supporting the profile, awareness, and 'good works' of the St Vincent de Paul Society encompassing a range of professional services, including policy development and implementation, procedural development, service evaluation, spirituality development, member formation, member skills training, administration, social justice advocacy, and service provision.As a Financial Counsellor, you will act as a primary resource to those requiring support in times of financial uncertainty. Financial Counsellors assess, explore, and provide options relating to financial debt issues to W.A. residents who make contact with the National Debt Helpline phone and chat service. They provide key information and resources in addition to facilitating emergency relief, advocating, and negotiating effectively for clients to improve and impact sustainable financial outcomes.Working across our Canning Vale and Perth Inner city officesDelivery of effective and empathetic telephone financial counselling services to those in financial difficulty1:1 client support, including the provision of information advocacy, referrals to other appropriate services, education, and as required, emergency financial reliefAssessment of the financial situation of clients to identify immediate remedies and longer-term solutions to improve a client's financial wellbeingCase management administration including accurate and timely data entryEnsures sound budgeting guidance is delivered, supporting future financial stability for those facing short-term or long-term financial hardshipsAbout YouAs a dynamic, results-oriented Financial Counsellor with extensive experience in fast-paced environments, you demonstrate strong communication, effective multitasking, and exceptional time management skills. You are adaptable, maintain a positive attitude, and are committed to meeting deadlines independently. With transferable IT skills in database management, operating systems, and analytical thinking, you have a proven ability to enhance operational efficiency and contribute to team success.
