As Financial Controller, you will report to the CEO and be instrumental in leading Step4's financial operations.
You'll oversee financial reporting, compliance, budgeting, and strategic financial planning, leveraging your strong forecasting abilities to guide growth.
Additionally, you'll bring leadership and coaching skills to mentor and support the development of other team members in the finance department, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting: Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, including reconciliations, budget preparation, and cash flow management.Strategic Financial Planning: Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to shape Step4's financial strategy, aligning it with strategic goals.
Support long-term planning by providing financial insights and recommendations.Forecasting: Leverage forecasting skills to anticipate financial trends, develop budgets, and guide resource allocation.
Create scenario models to inform key decision-making.KPI and Metric Analysis: Setup, monitor and report on financial KPIs, identifying trends and recommending improvements to optimize Step4's financial performance.System & Process Optimization: Drive continuous improvement in financial systems and internal controls, ensuring efficient, accurate operations.Leadership & Coaching: Mentor and coach finance team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
Provide guidance in developing skills and achieving professional growth.Payroll & Compliance: Oversee payroll and compliance, including PAYG, GST, BAS, and FBT, and provide onboarding support.Accounts Management: Supervise Accounts Payable and Receivable, ensuring accuracy in processing and reconciliation.Project Financial Oversight: Partner with Projects and Operations teams to manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure financial alignment.
Strong understanding of work in progress to ensure project expenses are matched to income accurately.Your StrengthsEducation: Advanced Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Experience: Demonstrated background in financial management, strategic planning, and team leadership.Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, Oracle NetSuite, and financial forecasting tools, with strong analytical, mentoring, and coaching abilities.Personal Qualities: Detail-oriented, strategic thinker with excellent communication skills, able to prioritize and support the development of others.We are looking for team members who embody the following qualities:
