The Role As a Financial and Tax Accountant, this pivotal role is responsible for statutory financial reporting, taxation compliance, and governance programs across ABN Group, ensuring the delivery of accurate consolidated financial statements, effective tax management, and compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract based in our Leederville office.
Key Responsibilities: Contribute to the preparation and compliance of statutory financial statements and tax lodgements, while ensuring the application of appropriate accounting standards and regulatory policies Assist with the execution of tax positions for the lodgement of income tax returns, FBT returns, BAS, and other business services Contribute to the development of income tax positions and Group tax planning.
Support the execution of tax policy, particularly in relation to GST, excise, and indirect taxes Support corporate secretarial duties, including share issues, annual reviews with ASIC, financial statement resolutions, and entity maintenance Prepare and lodge necessary forms and financial statements with ASIC and support the maintenance of company records Contribute to key processes in accounting systems (D365) related to financial reporting and consolidation Collaborate with auditors during the external audit process, supporting auditors and ABN Group accounts teams You To be successful in this role, you will have a strong foundation in financial accounting and taxation compliance, with experience working in large organisations with complex financial systems.
You will demonstrate a high level of competence in governance and compliance, with a good understanding of taxation regulations and financial reporting standards.
Essential Skills & Qualifications: Experience in financial accounting and reporting in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards Practical knowledge of Australian taxation regulations, including the Income Tax Assessment Act, GST Act, and FBT Act Proven experience in financial statement consolidations and audit cycles A qualification (or progress towards) in finance or accounting such as CA or CPA Proficiency in ERP systems (preferably D365) and advanced Excel skills.
Experience with company secretarial functions and ASIC regulatory obligations Familiarity with construction industry or related sectors is desirable Why Join Us?
