Role impact & contribution
As a Financial Accountant , your role is to contribute and provide assistance in all financial accounting functions and help ensure legislature reporting requirements are met for all reporting entities managed by the Residual and Retained Interest Entities team in Treasury Finance.
You will be responsible for providing direct support to the Associate Director and other senior accountants in the team and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and ensuring accuracy and timeliness of monthly and year-end financial reporting.
You will be joining our Financial Management and Services Group and will be working within the Treasury Finance and Services Division.
What you can bring to the role
The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:
Knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and NSW Government accounting policies Demonstrated experience in financial reporting including monthly reporting and preparing year-end financial statements Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines and work collaboratively to complete team deliverables Strong communication skills, both verbal and written High level interpersonal skills; ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships with all stakeholders Management accounting including budgeting, forecasting and financial variance analysis experience is highly desirable Strong Microsoft Excel skills and knowledge of Treasury Prime reporting system and SAP is highly desirable Tertiary qualifications in Commerce / Accounting / Finance and/or related discipline CA or CPA qualifications (or progressing to) is highly desirable
