Financial Accountant

The CompanyThis leading wealth management firm based at the top end of Collins Street is seeking an experienced financial accountant to join their growing finance team. With 4 different entities, one being a recent acquisition, this role is best suited to a dynamic, highly motivated individual with a strong technical background.The roleReporting to the CFO, your key responsibilities in this role will include:Prepare and review timely and accurate monthly financial statementsReconciliation of all general ledger accounts and preparation of month end journalsPrepare and analyse monthly reports including budget variance with commentaryPrepare cash flow forecastAssist with the preparation of board papersReview the work of the finance TeamOversee accounts payable, accounts receivable and payrollAssist with the preparation of annual budgetsPreparation of monthly commission reportsPreparation of yearly audit packReview and finalise FBT returns for external accountantsReview and lodge BAS returns, payroll tax returns and workers compensation paymentsSkills & ExperienceCPA/CA qualificationsProven experience in a Financial Accounting roleExcellent written and verbal communication skillsHigh attention detail, ability to multitask and be methodicalAbility to build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholdersXero experience highly desirableAdvanced working knowledge of ExcelBenefitsCommitment to professional growth and developmentFormal structured learning opportunitiesHybrid working arrangements 3/2Corporate newly refurbished offices at the top end of Collins StreetSocial ClubCasual FridaysEOFY and Christmas functionsThis is an exciting time to join this business as they undergo significant change.
