Financial Accountant

An exciting opportunity for a seasoned accountant to diversify your skills in a large team. 
Cougar Mining Group is the parent entity for multiple entities, who specialise in the provision of underground drilling, machinery manufacturing, hiring of equipment, products & services for mine sites. 
Reporting to the Group Commercial Manager, this full-time role will primarily be responsible for AME and BME who operate across NSW & QLD. Experienced in the manufacturing industries will compliment this role but is not essential.

Key Responsibilities: Financial Reporting – Preparing monthly/annual financial reports, including profit and loss statement, balance sheet, cashflow statement and internal management reports.Analysis and interpretations of financial reports and variances.Month-End & EOY Processes – Completion of the monthly end process, including monthly accruals, journals, fixed assets, depreciation schedules etc.Statutory Compliance – Preparation of BAS's, FBT and other compliance matters . Assisting in the compilation of documentation for the Annual Audited Financial Statements process.Management of project and job reporting including progress claims.Assisting in process improvement and systems enhancement initiatives.Ad hoc accounting duties to support the broader team. Qualifications and Skills Tertiary qualifications in accounting field.CPA / CA accreditation is favourable.Prior experience working within the mining or manufacturing industry.Exposure to multi entity accounting and consolidation.Strong understanding of manufacturing and Workflow management applications.Knowledge of ERP.Effective communication skills (written/oral).Strong attention to detail.Analytical and lateral thinker.Demonstrated commercial and business awareness.Ability to adapt and learn new processes and systems.Proven ability to prioritise and effectively manage workload and deadlines.Collaborative team player / able to work autonomously.Please note all applicants must have the right to work in Australia and only short-listed candidates will be contacted.
