Our client Agnico Eagle is a senior Canadian gold mining company producing precious metals from operations in Canada, Australia, Finland and Mexico. Agnico Eagle is a partner of choice within the mining industry, recognised globally for its leading environmental, social and governance practices.
Agnico Eagle owns and operates the Fosterville Gold Mine, which is located on Dja Dja Wurrung Country, approximately 20 kilometres east of Bendigo in Central Victoria. With its population of approximately 120,000 people, Bendigo is one of Victoria's largest and fastest growing rural cities with easy access to schools, hospitals, retail outlets, wineries, art galleries and outdoor recreational activities.
The role The Finance Superintendent is responsible for managing the business accounting function and leading a team of financial specialists. As the Finance Superintendent will be responsible for controlling monthly dual currency accounting to ensure timely completion and reporting, developing site reporting functions, reviewing monthly general ledger reconciliations, leading FBT compliance and reporting, preparing annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, managing quarterly and annual external audits, conducting compliance reviews, identifying opportunities to improve the finance and reporting functions and relieving the Finance Manager, as required.
Selection criteria CPA/CA qualified, you will need substantial experience working in a senior accounting role, with demonstrated experience in managing/supervising a team of professional accountants. You will also require knowledge of integrated accounting (ERP) systems. Pronto and Excel is required as well as knowledge of internal audit compliance procedures. Your excellent leadership and interpersonal skills will see you secure this dynamic role.
