About the role The Finance Officer (Accounts Receivable) provides an integral supportive role in PIA's small but effective Finance Team and accomplishes this by completing the crucial daily and monthly banking reconciliation and Accounts Receivable functions for the organisation. This role is an excellent opportunity for an organised and detail-oriented individual to build their career and experience in finance and accounting.
This role is part-time (20 hours per week, preferably 4 hours daily in the morning).
Key Selection Criteria This position requires a person with:
An Accounting / Commerce Certificate or Diploma and 1-2 years of experience in a similar-sized commercial or Not-for-Profit organisation OR at least 5 years of experience in a similar sized commercial or Not-for-Profit organisation.Proven experience in bank and other balance sheet reconciliations, accounts receivable and payable, preparing payroll, tax and regulatory compliance reporting.Demonstrated experience in using a merchant facility to process customer monthly subscriptions.Proven highly developed interpersonal skills (written and verbal) and ability to work with and for a small geographically dispersed team including non-finance executives and support staff.Proven high level of competency in MYOB and Microsoft office, particularly Excel and any experience in Customer Relationship Management Systems (CRM). Experience in iMIS CRM would be advantageous.Strong internal and external customer service orientation and preparedness to go the extra mile.Excellent organisational and time management skills, with a high attention to detail.Developed computer skills including the ability to use word processing and spreadsheet packages.Ability to take initiative and work collaboratively in a team and follow instructions effectively.Reliable, flexible and punctual.Work as part of the PIA team in a cohesive and supportive manner.Experience working for a member-based organisation or similar.Key Responsibilities Daily Financial operations and Monthly Bank Reconciliations Perform all daily and monthly PIA Bank Reconciliations (including operating, high interest and term deposits accounts).Perform all Accounts Receivable functions including Debtor collection and merchant facility processes.Create and manage MYOB job codes in conjunction with state and territory staff, if required.General Monitor and answer all accounts queries by phone or email.Assist the Financial Accountant with all financial aspects of the Membership process.Provide cover for the Financial Accountant and other Finance Officer, if and when required.Offer general administrative support, if required to the PIA Team.Applications must include a CV and covering letter addressing the selection criteria listed above.
