Overview of role: The role will perform accounting and reporting functions ensuring efficient and effective compiling of financial information for monthly reports, forecasting and continuous disclosure. The Finance Officer/Assistant Accountant will assist the Senior Accountant in providing financial support to the business units and their managers. The role will include fixed asset accounting, cost accounting and monthly accounting/reporting. The role also includes assistance with cash management, budgeting, and tax.
The ideal applicant would be based in Newcastle although Sydney or Dubbo may be considered for the right person.
Responsibilities include: Assist in the preparation of Monthly Reporting Lodging Annual Tax Reports Preparing Monthly Sales and Gross Margin Analysis Processing accruals and General Journals Preparation of tailored Monthly Financial Reports and reviews Preparation of weekly Cashflow Forecast Participate in Group Financial Reporting programs as prescribed by MGH CFO Respond to Audit enquiries Assist with Tax & Compliance Provide support to accounts payable and accounts receivable Qualifications & experience: Degree in Accounting and CPA/CA (or working towards) 2+ years of experience working in a similar financial role. Experience with ERP systems and MS Office Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Demonstrated initiative and ability to think laterally Advanced Excel skills Highly organised with the ability to prioritise and adapt to changing demands.
