We aim to improve the wellbeing of Aboriginal people in the area and are governed by an elected Board of 9 Directors. We provide housing, community, and social services to the region and employ over 90 staff, making us one of the largest employers in the region.
Since our inception in the 1980s, we have been a community-founded organisation, run by our Elders, that wanted to bring equality to housing and people's lives across all local townships and camps.
Our mission has always been "to inspire, accelerate and amplify the impact of our self-determination through the effective delivery of projects and advocacy."

Julalikari Council is currently seeking a full-time Finance Manager based in Tennant Creek, NT. The OpportunityReporting to the CEO, as our Finance Manager, you will be responsible for leading the finance team and overseeing the financial operations of the organisation, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards, and contributing to strategic financial planning and decision-making.
Core Responsibilities:
Overseeing the finance department and managing financial operationsEnsuring compliance with financial regulations and maintaining financial standardsManaging budgets, financial reporting, and forecastingDeveloping and strengthening internal financial controls and processesLeading, mentoring, and supporting the finance teamContributing to strategic financial planning and decision-making within the organisationAbout YouTo qualify for the role of Finance Manager at JCAC, you will need a degree in Accounting or Finance, coupled with CPA/CA/CFA qualifications. Additional requirements for this position include:
5+ years experience in a similar leadership roleProficiency in financial reporting, grant fund recording, budget management, and internal controlsStrong skills in team training and developmentUnderstanding of cultural sensitivity and workplace diversityExperience working with Aboriginal communities, or similar government-funded organisations is highly desirableAs our ideal candidate, you will join with demonstrated leadership skills and unwavering confidence. Your ability to handle challenging situations with a proactive and results-oriented approach will be key. You will also possess the skills to boost team morale and foster a positive, collaborative environment. We are looking for someone who not only aligns with our professional standards but also resonates with our cultural values and is ready to grow and succeed in this demanding yet rewarding role.
Additionally, a driver's license, Ochre Card, and police clearance are essential for this role.
