Finance Manager - Reporting and Compliance
A key role in one of Australia's largest, most diverse and inclusive agribusiness companies.Enjoy a CBD location, Brisbane .About the roleThe Finance Manager – Reporting and Compliance is responsible for the financial reporting, tax and accounting compliance, and other regulatory requirements of the group. This role ensures accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with the AASB and other regulatory standards as well as effective management of tax obligations. The role also supports the business through financial insights and risk management, ensuring robust internal controls and effective corporate governance.ResponsibilitiesOversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly and yearly preparation of the group's consolidated financial statementsManage the balance sheet reconciliation process, working with the broader finance team to ensure high quality, complete and accurate balance sheet reconciliations are completedIn consultation with the CFO, Group Head of Finance and the Group Finance Managers, develop, orchestrate and consolidate the group's annual budgeting and monthly reforecasting processes.Prepare three-way forecasts (Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow) for budget and reforecastsManage the Fixed Asset Register ensuring accuracy and compliance with AASBs and internal accounting policiesDay to day management of treasury activities including foreign exchange managementCoordinate and manage external audits in accordance with agreed timelinesEnsure compliance of the ledger in accordance with AASB accounting standards and where relevant, prepare technical accounting memo's for review and sign off by the Group Head of FinanceMaintain strong governance over financial processes, including the development, implementation and maintenance of financial policies, procedures and controls.Manage the tax compliance obligations of the group, including the preparation, review and submission of GST, FBT and Income Tax Returns in accordance with the requirements of the Australian Taxation OfficeLead, mentor and manage a team of finance professionals, ensuring continuous professional developmentIdentify skill gaps of the broader finance team and prepare and present internal training to increase the technical capabilities of the teamOversee all correspondence to regulatory bodies including but not limited to ASIC, ATO, FIRB, OSR and ABSAssist with the maintenance of corporate secretarial recordsManage the annual insurance renewal process and liaise with external insurance consultants on insurance claimsService and support for queries raised by stakeholdersContinuously seek and implement process improvements within the financial reporting and compliance functions, aiming for greater efficiency and accuracyTo be successful in this role you will need:Tertiary qualified Accountant – Chartered or CPA5 years + financial leadership experience within a large company or BIG 4Strong technical financial skills with an ability to link business processesAbility to manage a team with multiple deadlines and tasksProven experience with financial modelling to enable reporting and scenario planningDemonstrable ability to contribute broadly to the finance departmentProven skills in managing change in a complex environmentHighly developed communication and interpersonal skills at management levelERP system knowledge and experienceCommercial business experienceExperience with SAP B1, Concur, Power BI - DesirableAbout usAt Stahmann Webster, we pride ourselves on being farm-to-table producers of world class pecans, walnuts, macadamias, and almonds.
