About the Role:
In partnership with Zoos SA, Davies Stewart is pleased to invite an experienced Finance Manager to join their team.
This position will apply a combination of advanced post-trade skills derived from accredited training, postgraduate qualifications, and equivalent experience in various functions.
It will be responsible for managing the entire accounting function.
This position will work closely with the Director of Corporate Services and provide support as required.

Key Responsibilities: Prepare monthly financial reports for Management, Finance Committee and Board.
Prepare the annual financial budget for the organisation.
Work collaboratively with the People and Performance and Payroll teams to ensure accurate and timely employee payments.
Prepare year-end financial statements and manage the external audit process.
Oversee the Accounts Payable function, including coding, reconciliation and supplier queries.
Oversee the recognition of all financial transactional data and be responsible for income recognition.
Oversee the preparation of all statutory returns (FBT, BAS, ABS, RTWSA).
Manage the general operations of the finance teams with six direct reports.
Act as an effective backup without the Director of Corporate Services.
Mentor new employees and those who require assistance or advice.
Assist in the management of performance and performance-related issues.
Promote a team culture that values diversity and enables people to develop and work effectively together to achieve joint goals and targets.
Participate in training and development programs identified.
Undertake specialist administrative tasks and maintain all required records to an acceptable standard.
Skills & Experience: Membership in a professional accounting body (CPA or CA).
Degree in Commerce/Accounting or related field.
Advanced Excel skills.
Ability to arrange personal and teamwork routines and practices to make optimum use of time and resources.
Ability to operate computerised systems, with excellent written and verbal communication skills with internal and external customers, contacts, potential sponsors and suppliers.
High level of analytical skills.
Demonstrated skills in reconciliations and analysis.
Banking and cash management processes.
Appropriate technical, legal and accounting standards.
Demonstrated experience in a commercial accounting environment, especially in compliance and reporting.
Knowledge of appropriate techniques for handling public enquiries and complaints.
Knowledge of best practices in customer service.
Possess the ability to work with a wide range of people and levels of staff.
Self-motivated and uses initiative.
Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work under pressure to achieve deadlines.
