We operate 26 hospitals and services comprising more than 3,300 hospital beds, including home nursing, disability services and social outreach programs.As a Catholic, not-for-profit group, we invest all profits to the communities we serve by updating and expanding our facilities and technology; expanding existing services and developing and acquiring new services; and providing Social Outreach services to people experiencing disadvantage to improve health and wellbeing.Your role at St John of God Healthcare at HomeIn this role, you will be responsible for providing finance support to St John of God Healthcare at Home, including preparing monthly financial reports, supported by proactive balance sheet management, preparing daily, weekly and monthly financial reporting, and preparation of budgets and forecasts. You will also have management responsibility for Patient Administration Services and oversight of all corporate functions.The PositionPreparation of monthly accounts for the service, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.Recommend and assist in initiatives to improve processes to support balance sheet management, including month end close and process improvements.Provide external audit support, be a point of contact, provide accurate information in a timely manner.Support CEO and Director in financial management of the service.Annual capital and operating budgets are prepared and appropriate financial records are maintained.Responsible for the preparation of the month end close reports including review of the financial reports during the close period with the CEO and Director.Regular liaison with Cost Centre Managers to review results, forecasts and variances, attend meetings where applicable.Work with respective Cost Centre Managers to prepare their annual budget and quarterly forecasts, ensuring all documentation and deadlines are met.Preparation of budget / forecast memos.Business partner to the Cost Centre Managers.Reports on and forecasts on projects, to track spend and benefit.Provide leadership and direction to the Patient Administration Services.You will bring a strong foundation in accounting with a tertiary qualification and professional membership in a recognised Australian accounting body. Your demonstrated substantial experience in financial and management accounting will enable you to expertly develop, prepare, and monitor complex budgets, as well as handle forecasting and profit and loss management. Additionally, you will demonstrate experience in providing finance support to senior management, contributing to informed decision-making and strategic financial planning.To succeed you will possess extensive experience in writing reports for senior management and committees, coupled with over seven years in financial accounting, external audit, or a similar role within a finance function. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, along with presentation and interpersonal skills will allow you to effectively engage with stakeholders.You will demonstrate a proactive approach to analysing and implementing process improvements, as well as resolving complex issues.
