Finance ManagerAs Finance Manager for our client in the retail sector, you will oversee the financial operations, focusing on accurate financial reporting, budgeting, and financial process improvements to support the company's growth. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this role is instrumental in supporting retail operations through effective financial planning, ensuring compliance, and driving efficiencies.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, and provide insights into key financial metrics, sales trends, and inventory performance specific to the retail sector.Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, monitoring expenses and revenues to align with seasonal sales cycles and retail market trends.Cash Flow Management: Oversee cash flow requirements to support operational needs, ensuring efficient capital use for inventory and retail expansion.Compliance & Tax: Ensure all financial activities comply with regulatory requirements, including BAS, GST, and FBT submissions, while also managing retail-specific tax obligations.Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements in finance operations to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and support of retail transactions.Inventory & Cost Management: Collaborate with the sales and supply chain teams to analyze inventory costs, manage retail rebates, and contribute to pricing strategies.Team Leadership: Manage 2 FTE and report to the GM.Skills & AttributesStrong financial acumen, with a focus on retail-specific financial metrics.Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Excel for data analysis.Excellent communication skills for engaging with cross-functional teams.Strong analytical skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced retail environment.QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field; Master's or MBA is a plus.Certification: CA or CPA qualification preferred.Experience:At least 5 years in finance or accounting, with 2+ years in a management role within the retail sector.Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis for retail.Knowledge of tax compliance, including BAS, GST, and retail-specific accounting requirements.Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., MYOB, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
