CSI is listed on the Toronto stock exchange (CSU) and acquires, manages, and builds industry specific software companies across the globe, providing them with strategic guidance and financial security.Vela APX is a division of Vela Software which manages the acquisitions and operations for a portfolio of vertical market software companies across the world.About the roleThe Atlas portfolio spans across multiple countries internationally, including Australia and New Zealand, as their Finance Manager, you will support the Group Financial Controller and business unit leaders by leading day-to-day accounting, financial and commercial processes across the relevant section of portfolio.This is a permanent full-time role in Brisbane in our Eight Mile Plain Office.ResponsibilitiesSome of the key responsibilities for this role will include:Maintain accurate records of portfolio performance and forecasts.Become a trusted advisor to the GMs in support of their businesses' objectives.Manage the collation, review, recognition, and reconciliation of applicable provisions including holdbacks, annual leave, and long service leave across the vertical market.Optimise cash flow management by maintaining sufficient funds in bank to meet payment obligations and maximising cash flow excess remittance to Vela APX.Manage the revenue recognition review process including the reconciliation of revenue deferrals, WIP and Milestone billing for the vertical market.Manage the preparation of the inter-company recharges and balance sheet reconciliations for and within the portfolio.Take ownership of the Inventory, Tangible Assets and Intangible Assets management, associated provisions, depreciation and amortisation across the vertical market.Lead a team of accountants and finance officerAbout YouYou will be able to demonstrate the following:Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a commercial environment. Accounting, Business or other Tertiary/Professional qualification.CA/CPA membership or equivalent Solid understanding of core accounting principles and applicable accounting standards (IFRS, A-IFRS)Sound problem solving and analytical skillsHighly effective communication skills (verbal, written and presentational)Well-developed planning and organisational skills with high attention to detailHigh level of computer literacy including computerised accounting packages and MS Office productsDesire to lead and manage a team to successful outcomes Why join Vela APX?At Vela, we believe in taking care of our team.
