Julalikari Council Aboriginal Corporation (JCAC) has provided community services in Tennant Creek and the Barkly region for over 40 years. We aim to improve the wellbeing of Aboriginal people in the area and are governed by an elected Board of 9 Directors. We provide housing, community, and social services to the region and employ over 90 staff, making us one of the largest employers in the region.
Since our inception in the 1980s, we have been a community-founded organisation, run by our Elders, that wanted to bring equality to housing and people's lives across all local townships and camps.
Our mission has always been "to inspire, accelerate and amplify the impact of our self-determination through the effective delivery of projects and advocacy."
Specifically, in the areas of:

Culture, heritage, and arts
Community and social wellbeing
Commercial and social enterprises
Employment, education and training
Housing and construction

We aim to "promote sustainable economic and social development in Tennant Creek and across Barkly regional communities, through individual and community achievement."
Julalikari Council is currently seeking a full-time Finance Manager based in Tennant Creek, NT.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the CEO, as our Finance Manager, you will be responsible for leading the finance team and overseeing the financial operations of the organisation, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards, and contributing to strategic financial planning and decision-making.
Core Responsibilities:

Overseeing the finance department and managing financial operations
Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and maintaining financial standards
Managing budgets, financial reporting, and forecasting
Developing and strengthening internal financial controls and processes
Leading, mentoring, and supporting the finance team
Contributing to strategic financial planning and decision-making within the organisation

About You
To qualify for the role of Finance Manager at JCAC, you will need a degree in Accounting or Finance, coupled with CPA/CA/CFA qualifications.
Additional requirements for this position include:

5+ years experience in a similar leadership role
Proficiency in financial reporting, grant fund recording, budget management, and internal controls
Strong skills in team training and development
Understanding of cultural sensitivity and workplace diversity
Experience working with Aboriginal communities, or similar government-funded organisations is highly desirable
