Position Title: Finance and Payroll Officer

About the Role:
Join our dedicated team at Burnett Youth Learning Centre as a Part-Time Finance and Payroll Officer. Reporting to the Business Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing our financial operations and providing executive support. This part-time position has a load of 0.6FTE.
Key Responsibilities:
Finance Management: Oversee accounting and financial functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant standards. Payroll Processing: Handle fortnightly payroll, including verifying timesheets, ensuring ATO compliance, and liaising with payroll providers. Budgeting: Assist in the preparation and monitoring of the annual budget, offering insights on budget performance to the Business Manager. Reporting: Prepare monthly and annual financial reports and oversee statutory returns for government bodies. Financial Guidance: Provide advice to the Business Manager and Principal on the financial health of the school and assist staff with budget-related inquiries. Grant Administration: Manage government grants and ensure compliance with reporting requirements. Strong understanding and experience of QuickBooks software. About You:

Commitment to creating a positive and inclusive school culture. Adaptable and willing to take on new challenges as directed by school leadership. Qualifications:
Relevant qualifications in finance or accounting. Experience in finance and payroll management, preferably in an educational setting. Knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and employment legislation. Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office. Why Join Us?
