The Marine Bioproducts Cooperative Research Centre (MBCRC) is established to drive rapid growth and transformation of sustainable marine bioproducts across Australia's marine estate.
We are seeking an experienced full-time Finance and Administration Officer to provide high-level support to the General Manager of the Marine Bioproducts CRC.
This position is a great opportunity to work on a wide variety of tasks, within the following responsibilities:
Finance, Governance and Administration - 80% Liaise with the external accountants to co-ordinate the bookkeeping process including invoicing, accounts receivable and accounts payable. Assist with budgeting, cashflow management and forecasting activities. Utilise Xero and other accounting software to accurately record and approve financial transactions. Reconcile bank and credit card accounts, along with maintaining the integrity of financial data. Prepare financial reports to support management decision-making. Assist in preparing high quality board submissions and company secretariat administration. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies. Draft internal policies and oversee policy review process and maintenance of the policy register. Maintain the risk register and risk profile. Maintain the compliance register.Statutory, Commonwealth & Project Reporting - 20% Assist in preparation of Commonwealth Grant Quarterly and Annual Reporting requirements. Assist in maintaining project governance and management systems. Review of project data to ensure accurate project information for stakeholders. Assist with the annual financial audit process. Manage Partner financial contribution reconciliations and assist with queries to ensure grant acquittances are completed on a timely basis. Assist with preparation of the ACNC annual statement. Manage the resource library (reports, technical reports, research papers/publications) About you Undergraduate commerce, business degree or TAFE qualifications preferred Experience with software relevant to the role, particularly Xero and Microsoft Suite. Experience with Power BI not essential but desirable. Well-developed interpersonal skills including the ability to work in a consultative manner, establish and sustain effective working relationships at all levels Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Adaptable to new tasks and willingness to undertake necessary training, education and development Ability to multi-task and manage deadlines Ability to work effectively in and contribute positively to a team environment Exceptional attention to detail required to be a superstar in this role Initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision.
