Your new company At Hays Specialist Recruitment, we play a major role in supporting remote camp sites in South Australia. Our clients have developed service solutions for remote sites to meet their clients' needs for comfort, safety, and well-being at each stage of their projects.
Your new role We are looking for experienced Chefs that have FIFO experience for swings starting in October 2024. These positions are on a casual basis and will be 2-week swings consisting of a week of days followed by a week of nights. Day Shift Dinner Service is approx. 8 AM to 8 PM and Night Shift/Breakfast Service would be 8 PM to 8 AM.
Based on current operational requirements, we will only be able to consider chefs with relevant FIFO experience and competency to cope in these demanding roles that require experience in bulk catering. These roles will require chefs who are flexible to work across all different sections within a large-scale commercial kitchen, such as breakfast prep, cold larder, main meal preparation, and grill/fry section.
These roles are strictly suited to Qualified Chefs only, holding a Certificate III or above with remote site experience.
All flights will depart from Adelaide Airport, so this means that we can only consider applicants who are based in South Australia and within a reasonable distance from Adelaide Airport.
What you'll need to succeed A completed Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (OR International Equivalent) is ESSENTIAL. Relevant remote site experience is ESSENTIAL for the role. You will be required to get a full Police Clearance and provide 2 contactable work references. A current Australian Driving Licence is preferred (or EU equivalent). You must be flexible and be willing to work across all shift patterns, including the day and night shift. All candidates will be expected to undertake and pass an extensive pre-employment medical and instant drug and alcohol test. Successful candidates MUST be based in South Australia as all FIFO opportunities leave from Adelaide airport.
