About the Opportunity As part of the Rapid Response/City Cleansing Team, your main focus in this role will be city cleansing with tasks such as street sweeping, beach cleaning, graffiti removal and foreshore cleaning. You will also be required to assist in the delivery of Council's maintenance programs and cleaning tasks associated to ensure the Council area is maintained to an appropriate standard that reflects a welcoming, safe and active community.
You will be required to perform the Rapid Response and City Cleansing duties as outlined in the Position Description. In particular, this role will focus on but is not limited to:
Street sweeper operationsBeach cleaning in line with scheduled programs Foreshore cleaning in line with scheduled programs Installation and repair of signage, fencing and traffic bollardsStormwater maintenance as requiredMaintenance and minor repairs to Council infrastructureGraffiti removal and pressure cleaningReactive tasks such as dumped rubbish collection and event set-up/pack-upInternal maintenance and repairs as requested If you hold a relevant minimum Certificate III qualification (as listed below) the position will be offered on a permanent basis.
If you have the relevant experience but do not hold a qualification you will be employed as an adult apprentice and required to undertake a Certificate III in a relevant field, which will be funded by Council over a 3-year fixed term. Upon successful completion of the required qualification, you may be permanently converted to a fulltime Fieldworker within our Rapid Response/City Cleansing Team.
