Field Technician

We are seeking a casual IT Field Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will primarily be responsible for swapping parts and providing 'hands and feet' support. The work is generally quite simple and well supported by phone and Teams calls. The position would suit anyone with a keen interest in IT and could be the perfect stepping stone into a position as one of our desktop support technicians. Freedom IT is a fast-growing business and would gladly provide the right applicant with access to our various training platforms, and the support to further their IT skills. We are happy to assist the successful applicant to obtain Blue Card and Police Clearance if not already obtained.
Scenarios: Warranty work – swapping parts in laptops, desktops and servers. Infrastructure upgrades – swapping switches, access points, routers etc in cabinets and providing remote access to overseas support techs via laptop. Troubleshooting – Attending site and assisting offsite techs with remote diagnosis of problems by following instructions and providing feedback. Responsibilities: Onsite repair of laptops, desktops and servers. Swapping of infrastructure equipment and providing remote access to overseas support technicians via laptop. Reliable communication and documentation of: Travel time Onsite time Offsite time Work performed Parts used and serial numbers where required. Requirements: Strong focus on customer service. Patience when communicating. Ability to work well within a team environment. Current Driver's license. Current Blue Card. Current Police Clearance.
