The Role Vitalcare are expanding our national service and installation team with new Field Service Technicians specialising in nurse call technology.
We are ideally looking for seasoned technicians with experience in nurse call, security/access control/CCTV, NBN, home automation, electrical or fire alarm systems installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
However, some of our strongest team members are our junior and apprentice technicians, so we are always on the lookout for those new to the industry and looking to grow their skills and experience.

Who We AreVitalcare has pioneered nurse call systems in hospitals and aged care facilities for over 30 years. The company designs, manufactures, installs and services the most innovative systems available through a network of company owned branches and distributors in Australia and New Zealand.
Systems include traditional nurse call infrastructure with both wired and wireless technology along with specialist ecosystems for dementia support, fall detection, RTLS, and wandering resident management. Expertise includes wireless IoT (internet of things), mmWave radar, voice, lidar and machine vision. All Vitalcare systems are supported via Vitalcloud, the company's secure cloud-based management and reporting network.
Vitalcare also operates 'Rosie', a 24-hour personal emergency call centre.
All of our products are designed and assembled in Australia, and all software is developed in-house, meaning you will get access to our development teams and input into new products and features on a regular basis.

Be a reliable and enthusiastic electronics, nurse call, security/access control, NBN installer, electrician or fire technician with a passion for using technology to deliver solutions that not only save but improve the lives of thousands of patients, residents, and vulnerable individuals across Australia and New Zealand.We will also consider candidates from other backgrounds with demonstrable interest and capability within the electronics field, such as those currently pursuing studies in any of the above or related areas: tell us about a personal, academic, or professional project you have worked on that overlaps with these areas.Be a strong communicator who is confident to explain complex technical concepts to customers and users at all levels of technical capability and shows empathy for client concerns no matter how big or how small.Be an adaptable team member and team player who can take the lead or work autonomously when required.Be cool, calm, collected, and solutions oriented in all situations, no matter how high the stakes.Love solving problems and be dedicated to perfecting your craft and be inherently curious about how various technologies can be implemented in unique ways to meet client needs.Able to demonstrate occupational competence, or qualified in electronics, communications or IT or be currently studying towards a relevant qualification.Hold current certifications for Open Cabling (ideally with SC, CC, and OF endorsements), Working in Confined Spaces, Working at Heights, as well as a Construction General Induction (White Card), or be willing and able to obtain them within 3 months of employment.Hold a current full (unrestricted) Australian driver licence.Love exploring new places and be comfortable travelling to remote areas and interstate, occasionally for a week or more.Willing to be on-call on a rotating roster and occasionally working after-hours when necessary (such as during client system outage).Be physically fit and able to regularly work on ladders/roofs and in confined spaces, as well as remain alert during extended drives, as some of our sites are in regional and remote areas.Pass a National Police Check.Be willing to obtain a current Flu vaccination along with Covid vaccinations when available which are a legal requirement to enter client facilities.Be located in the Sydney, Melbourne or the Central Coast area.What You'll KnowSuccessful candidates will have demonstrable knowledge and/or experience in one or more of the following areas:
Nurse call, security/access control/CCTV, or fire alarm systems installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.Structured data, communications, and power cabling on greenfield sites and existing buildings, including use of internal/external conduits, especially in difficult circumstances such as heritage listed buildings and multi-storey premises.Confident and experienced using hand and power tools for clean and efficient mounting, fit-off, and repairs such as drills, soldering irons, impact drivers, crimpers, wire strippers, punch-down tools, wall anchor setting tools, angle grinders etc.Comfortable with common terminations, standards, and limitations of CAT5/6, Coaxial, Optic Fibre, and ELV Power cabling.Able to maintain accurate and consistent job/project notes and collect evidence of works completed including photographs, sign-ins, sign-offs, and ITP's, especially in digital platforms such as GeoOp, Servicem8, or ServiceNow.Accurately reading, interpreting, and implementing information from technical specifications, manuals/guides, shop drawings, and site plan.Basic configuration and troubleshooting of IP-based networks and associated infrastructure including routers, switches, and gateways, especially experience with Juniper, Cisco, and/or Ubiquiti.Some experience with basic Window/Linux CLI tools used in network troubleshooting and log analysis such as ifconfig, ping, and grep.What's in it for me?For the successful candidate, we can offer:
