Location Profile We seek a female teacher to work at our Don Valley Campus for 2025, in consideration of The Equal Opportunity Act 2010 (Vic), Section 25.
The School for Student Leadership (Trading as The Alpine School) is a unique year-nine specialist school operating for 24 years, with over 10,000 students participating in programs both in Victoria and in China from 2014-2019. The school has four campuses in regional Victoria.
Our program is based on a highly supported leadership education model, focusing on experiential and project/inquiry learning, with an extensive outdoor, environmental, and adventure education component.
Roles and Responsibilities Specific to the Setting The role requires a flexible, enthusiastic, and team-oriented approach, with responsibilities including:
Direct teaching of groups and individual students. Contributing to the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum areas or programs. Participating in activities such as parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps, and excursions. Undertaking non-teaching supervisory duties. Selection Criteria SC1 Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including the ability to incorporate the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills. Experience in responding to student learning needs.
SC2 Experience in planning for and implementing high-impact teaching strategies, evaluating the impact on student learning growth.
SC3 Experience in monitoring and assessing student learning, using data to inform teaching practice.
SC4 Interpersonal and communication skills, establishing collaborative relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
SC5 Behaviours consistent with Department values, reflecting upon practice and engaging in professional learning.
SC6 Knowledge, skills, or experience in teaching and learning related to year-nine students away from usual school settings.
Who May Apply Teachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach in the specified curriculum areas.
